Year 5 have been to visit Leicester Central Mosque and have learnt all about the Muslim community.

This visit supports our current Christian value of Koinonia. We learnt all about how Muslims pray and the importance of their holy building and book. We even found out that some mosques have sports halls where people can play before worship.

Reflection from Aimee Boden:

Today I have learnt all about each room in a mosque and how Muslims worship. The layout of a mosque is important because in the main prayer hall there are domes where the Imam is standing to allow his voice to echo, sending the sound around the whole room (which was huge). Also, all of the doors are at the back of the room so that when you enter each room you are facing Mecca.
