Science Assembly - Comets, Cameras and Rocket Fuel!

Judith Green from the Robert Smyth Academy treated the children to a fantastic science assembly on Monday afternoon. Funded by the Ogden Trust, Judith showed the children how to make a comet using some very exciting dry ice and simple household items. She also used rocket fuel and fire to simulate what happens when a rocket takes off. The children really enjoyed looking at themselves using a UV camera and were amazed that you could see someone through an opaque material using the camera because of their body heat. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Judith and The Ogden Trust. Every child was truly amazed and inspired by the assembly, and everyone seemed keen to get back in the classroom to try some practical science of their own!
